Tennessee

My husband and son were going through a picture book about the US tonight. My son was pointing to the different states and my husband was telling him the name of the given state. My son pointed to one state in particular, at which time my husband told him it was Tennessee. My son paused for a moment then asked “What did Tenna see?”

Little man

So, we are having a boy. I had a feeling but I always assume those are crap. I'm a little disappointed that we found out, but it does allow for some planning. Our three year old was at the ultrasound and provide much entertainment. When it was over he asked the doctor if she could take a look at the monster in his belly. I am 18 weeks today, but the baby is measuring 18 weeks and 2 days, no big deal and not very surprising since I'm married to a 6'7" beast. I got a ton of pictures that I will post later once I have a chance to scan them.

Phantom feelings...

Trying not to become crazy lady, but I think I might have started feeling the baby…you’d think that I’d know what to look for since this isn’t might first pregnancy, but time makes you forget and there also the phantom feeling that I had after having my son. A couple of months after having my beautiful baby boy I started getting feelings like baby butterflies in my tummy…any woman who’s been pregnant know what I’m talking about. At first I thought I was crazy and just imaging them, but they seemed so real. I finally broke down and took a pregnancy test, which of course turned out negative. The idea that I could be pregnant again and far enough along to be feeling the baby is ridiculous, considering my son was like four months old. Away, the feeling continued and finally I asked my sister if she had ever felt the same thing, much to my relief she had. My sister had two children vaginally and her last one by c-section, and it was only after the c-section that she felt the phantom butterflies (I think they jack stuff up while they’re rooting around in there). Since I’ll be 18 weeks on Thursday I guess it’s safe to assume that they are really baby movements, but I think I’ll keep that under wraps for the most part. There is nothing worse then strangers groping your belly trying to cop a baby movement feel. I wasn’t okay to randomly touch my belly before I got pregnant, and the presence of a baby doesn’t make it okay now…so back off.

Explain yourself…

So, I try not to be one of those obnoxious women who only talk about their pregnancy and children. But, every so often something happens in the realm of that motherhood I feel compelled to speak about. Enter “BABY FISH MOUTH”….which will be forum to be obnoxious mom and not feel guilty about it. So, to start with here are some pics of the little bean in my belly…my son said it looked like a monster, my friend said that it looked like a monkey head…lets hope that it is neither.
